Architecture

PROES has technicians with a broad experience in the multiple aspects of both Architecture and Building Structures: residential buildings, public buildings (shopping and leisure centres), educational centres, public or office buildings, transport stations, car parks, water purification and treatment plants, etcetera. We have extensive experience in projects, for both private clients and public institutions.

Our team drafts Basic and Execution Projects for buildings of different typologies, leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating architecture, structure and installations at all times; we also carry out the Construction Management of these projects. We also develop architectural competitions, and our proposals have been awarded prizes in national and international competitions.

As a result of the close collaboration between Architecture and Engineering, we have developed innovative technologies in the world of building, such as the use of post-tensioned slabs and building without expansion joints.

Land Infrastructures

Proes carries out linear works projects, such as motorways, roads, railway lines, urban roads, etc. This includes from small actions, such as the remodelling of road junctions, to construction projects for sections of motorways in the field of roads and, in the field of railway works, from the removal of level crossings to projects for the construction of sections of High Speed Lines.

In relation to linear works, Proes’ extensive experience and great capacity stand out, particularly in the design of bridges. In more than forty years we have carried out projects for structures of various types, such as bridges and unique viaducts, both for road and rail traffic, overpasses and underpasses, pedestrian walkways, cut-and-cover tunnels and other structures, either “in situ” or prefabricated. Proes is also an expert in acting on existing structures, whether for expansion or repair.

Proes has extensive experience in Technical Assistance, especially in structures, where it also provides specialised advice. It has also developed original construction techniques.

Coastal Hydrodynamics

Proes, in terms of Environmental Consultancy, develops all the characterisation studies of the natural environment necessary to acquire a deep and detailed knowledge of it. Our studies are elaborated by means of office tasks, numerical simulation or by means of field work.

We carry out the following studies related to hydrodynamics in ports and coasts:

– Wave agitation studies and resonance and long wave analysis.
– Study of water renewal in harbour basins.
– Modelling of the evolution of discharges and design of catchment works.
– Characterisation of coastal dynamics in coastal areas.
– Regeneration of beaches and dunes, as well as environmental recovery.
– Integrated management of coastal areas
– Application of GIS to environmental engineering projects
– Environmental impact studies. Noise studies.

From the initial planning to the construction phases, at PROES we bear in mind the values of protection, respect and improvement of the natural environment. Based on these principles, we have developed projects for: coastal paths, beach and dune regeneration, extension of port facilities and waste disposal pipelines.

Rehabilitation and Maintenance

For several years now, Public Administrations, concessionaires and owners of infrastructures of all kinds, have been showing a special interest in the need to carry out maintenance and conservation work on them, in order to guarantee their correct operation in adequate safety conditions. The Rehabilitation and Maintenance department of PROES has extensive experience in all the activities that allow these works to be carried out.

PROES has the capacity to carry out inventories and inspections (routine or basic, main and special) and, if necessary, to draw up construction projects to rehabilitate, repair, reinforce or extend existing works, and even to provide technical assistance for the execution of the works or to carry out the project management.

Our usual works include not only linear structures (bridges, viaducts, etc.) but also port, hydraulic and other types of works, with special emphasis on participation in the rehabilitation of singular and historical structures.

Industrial facilities

The Industrial Engineering Department of Proes carries out projects, audits and technical assistance for industrial installations in the port, hydraulic and industrial fields in general.

Among others, it carries out:

– Project and design of electrical installations: substations, transformer stations, high, medium and low voltage lines.

– Automation, communications and security projects (CCTV, access control, etc.).

– Design of building installations: Electricity, HVAC, lighting, fire protection, telephony, TV, gas, public address systems, etc.

– Lighting projects and associated installations in tunnels and roads.

– Energy Efficiency Audits

Technical Assistance

The Technical Assistance Department of Proes mainly carries out project management, project management and technical assistance to the Property, both in maritime and land works of national and international scope, as well as projects of special auxiliary structures.

Specialised consultancy services are provided on infrastructures and the drafting of expert reports, as well as structural problems.

We also carry out load tests: definition, preparation of the calculation report and subsequent drafting of the report on the results.

– Auditing
– Construction Management
– Project Management.
– Certifications.
– Quality Control.
– Supervision, Consultancy and Control of Works.
– Assessments and Protection Plans.

Hydraulic Works

PROES’s field of activity, in terms of Hydraulic Works and Installations, ranges from sanitary and hydrological engineering to any hydraulic infrastructure and installation and, within these activities, it carries out reports, technical assistance for works, preliminary projects and tender projects, as well as works management and construction projects for large hydraulic infrastructures.

The areas of activity include: marine pipelines (immisaries and outfalls for water intakes and discharge into desalination and treatment plants), land pipelines (drinking water supply) and irrigation. In the field of water storage, we carry out projects for tanks and reservoirs.

We also develop projects for the design of pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, sanitation, hydrology and drainage.

PROES also has extensive experience in the development of CFD models for the numerical simulation of fluids.

Terminals and Operation

The Port Terminals and Operations Department carries out the integral development of specialised maritime terminals (LNG, LPG, minerals…), as well as IT tools for port management and optimisation studies for the operation of ports and terminals.

Other activities we carry out are:

-Preparation of RPF documentation for EPC contracts.

-Nautical risk studies

-Specification of materials and industrial technical equipment.

-Supervision and activation of procurement processes.

-Pre-commissioning and commissioning supervision

-Numerical simulation studies for moored ship analysis

Port Engineering

The Port Engineering Department carries out the planning of port spaces, the design of shelter structures, as well as the development of maritime infrastructures and marinas.

It also carries out the following activities related to the field of port engineering:

– Operational procedures

– Dimensioning of navigation and flotation areas

– Assembly of caissons and dimensioning of prefabricated structures.

– R+D+i work in the field of maritime works.

– Quality assurance plans for construction and tendering projects.

– Ship-terminal compatibility studies

– Work programmes and plans

– Economic feasibility studies
